Structure

The University includes two campuses in Williams Lake and Kamloops, as well as five small regional centers, all of which are located in British Columbia.

If we consider the structure of the university in more detail, we can distinguish the following:

Regional centers. All the centers are located in British Columbia. Their main task is to offer courses and programs in a variety of areas, as well as seminars that allow you to quickly earn the necessary amount of credits for further studies at universities. In addition, some of these centers offer online courses in specialized programs.

Kamloops. This is the main campus of the university, located between the arms of the Thompson River, which explains the name of the university. The campus is located directly in Kamloops, close to the city center, and covers an area of about 250 acres. The proximity to various restaurants, banks, nightclubs and shopping malls makes the life of students here very comfortable. In addition, students can actively engage in sports — many of them participate in marathons, including the famous Boston Marathon.

The Williams Lake campus. This campus is located in the small town of Williams Lake in the Cariboo Province, about 300 kilometers from the main campus. Here, students can study in small classes, as well as receive more affordable housing and use modern infrastructure. Williams Lake is a quiet and ecologically clean city, founded in 1929 on land plots of local Indians, with a population of about 11 thousand people.

Accomodation:

Today, university students can choose where to live: in host families, in residences, or in rented houses and apartments, depending on their preferences.

Residences

The university has its own residence hall, which can accommodate almost 600 students at a time. This is a new building with 11 floors with rooms of various capacities. The residence is dominated by single rooms, but there are also two- and four-room comfortable apartments. The first ones are designed for two residents, and the second ones are for four. Mixed placement of girls and young people is allowed only in exceptional cases. The residence is equipped with a spacious storage room, a full-fledged laundry room and fast internet. Students have access to electronic locks, telephones, television, 24-hour reception and a fitness center. On each floor there is a kitchen and relaxation areas, and on the ground floor there is a large recreation area.

Host families

The University has been cooperating with foster families for many years, which allows us to preserve the positive experience of several generations of students. This is a great way to integrate international students and first-year students, as it provides an opportunity to regularly practice English and receive help in learning the language, living almost like at home. The cost of accommodation with host families is 850 Canadian dollars per month, including three full meals a day.

In addition, the university offers 300 apartments in three residences right on the main campus, which consist of blocks of four single rooms. These apartments are well equipped and ready to move in at any time, while girls and boys usually live separately.

The cost of living in the official residence of the university starts from 6160 Canadian dollars per year.

Students can easily seek professional help from the university to find accommodation even off-campus, the price of which will depend on the accommodation conditions.
