WLU offers more than 80 bachelor, master, and postgraduate degree programs and has 25 research centers and institutes. The university is particularly proud of its own business incubator, LaunchPad, located at the Faculty of Business and Economics. The incubator also serves as a free workplace for students.

The university innovative approach ensures an optimal combination of theory and practice in the classroom and other experiential learning opportunities, including internships. International students are very important to WLU. Every year, more than 1,000 foreigners from more than 80 countries come to the university. The most popular areas of study at Wilfrid Laurier University are economics, communication technology, business and biological research. In addition, the university  Faculty of Music is considered one of the most prestigious in the world. It offers the world's only master's degree program in music therapy.

The activity and involvement of students in the classroom and extracurricular activities is one of the main priorities of the university. Laurier systematically ranks high in the rankings evaluating student support and the quality of teachers (Maclean rating). Laurier teachers are leading experts in their fields and real teachers. Their work and dedication have earned them a solid reputation in Canada and around the world. The university has an excellent ratio of teachers and students, 1:25.
